Virginia
We took a road trip to Shenandoah Valley, one of the most beautiful places in the USA to view fall foliage. We started at the Thornton Gap and made our way south to the Upper Hawksbill parking lot for a short (2 mi roundtrip) hike to the summit, with great panoramic views from the top. The following weekend, we started at the northernmost entrance at Fort Royal and drove all the way down to the exit at Swift Run Gap, then stopped at Early Mountain Vineyards on the way back to DC. Nothing beats a road trip with friends!
